At least, these are the production standards that we all have in mind. However, every day there are new companies that defend the use of advanced technology, intelligent and effective by itself for an efficient and sustainable production process. It is precisely these changes in production that force labor standards to change in the same way, now, the requirements are more demanding, oriented to the use and knowledge of the technology that is used.
It is true that the customers have also evolved, now, they seek customization of their products and their purchase process; no longer satisfied with the utility or the design of the good, they seek to feel unique with respect to others, and be able to share it. This demand, which is so sensitive to the characteristics of the products, also forces the industry to exceed its limits, and allows innovation to flourish.

CEOs should be aware of the importance of the workforce in the near future, should stimulate the development of necessary skills for an optimal symbiosis with the new industry and above all, have to realize that the present children generation (generation z) could work in job profiles that don’t exist yet.

Three main categories have been identified on the skills needed to instigate the industry of the future:

• Social skills: These are all those skills that were considered unnecessary a
decade ago, such as emotional intelligence, teamwork skills, decision
making and self-taught learning.

• Technical Competences: They include all the knowledge and skills acquired
through the practice and learning of new technologies such as the IoT, as
well as the skills to integrate and interconnect each of the processes.

• Management skills: Include skills for leadership, decision making in the short and long term, as well as the ability to work in a decentralized manner.

The jobs of the future will change as standards increase and the needs of the industry focus on the technological and the human. Jobs related to Big Data, information analysis, environmental protection, renewable energy, robotics, security, communications and even ethics will make the difference between a company willing to adapt and another willing to die.
Undoubtedly the change is a challenge for the current leaders, and when the 4.0 industry takes more strength the transformation will be unavoidable. The directors will have to reinvent their systems, giving more freedom to the employee after training; an adequate work environment for intergenerational relationships within the company; quality of life, better salaries and social benefits.

Finally, it should be emphasized that it is necessary that organizations with a voluntary and honest orientation to the human being, no matter if it’s an employee or their client, instead of focusing on costs, profits or mass production, will be taking the reins of a new market, more transparent, ethical and productive.

The world’s manufacturing forces have maintained a constant labor force for more than a century; the organizational method is maintained, as well as the traditional production process to make more at lower cost.
